Patriot is no longer a common name in the enthusiast crowd. Their reputation of having high quality enthusiast memory spread as fast as a nasty rash, which in this case, is a very good thing. Their XBL line of memory targets overclockers and hardware enthusiasts. (more)

Patriot PDC1G5600ELK does really offer the best of both worlds. It is able to scale fairly high with tight timings hitting a nice 247 MHz mark, loosen those timings up a bit and the memory achieves a remarkable 674 MHz!

I would highly recommend the Patriot PC2-5600+ XBLK modules for use on the C19 chipset based motherboards and may do as well or better on i955X chipset based boards. The end user can use extremely low timing values and achieve or exceed bandwidth close to running the maximum speed that is achievable with slack timing values as seen in this review and others published here on Xtreme Resources.

They have brought to market a module that will maintain pace with the best of them, and even treat you to a performance gain (however slight) at stock speeds. Bravo PDP Systems, Bravo, for doing your homework and not flopping on intro.

All of this adds up to Top Performance and Top Value, which is high praise for this Patriot memory. Our test modules actually performed much better than these base settings, reaching a stable DDR630 at 2.5-4-3-7 timings at 2.9V on the AMD Athlon 64 platform.

Patriot's version of low latency memory certainly gave me a nice first impression. It has been quite a success and provides tough competition to top rated companies and manufacturers. For Patriot's first few lines of memory in the highly competitive market, it sure performed exceedingly well.

I easily hit 280HTT 2.5-3-3-9 which was the highest stable clock I've reached. It is never-the-less always impressive when PC3200 memory can go 1:1 at DDR600 speeds. Patriot's TCCD offering is the cheapest on the market and is worth the small investment.

Patriot...didn't disappoint us with such capable modules. CAS 2.5 is where TCCD modules shine, and Patriot PDC1G3200+XBLK is no exception. At these moderately tight timings, they managed to hit 275MHz, which is 25MHz higher than what Patriot have rated them to run at.

With the success of the XBL, Patriot is following up with their new PDC22G5600+XBLK DDR2 memory. Boasting 3-2-2-4 timings at 533mhz, this new part has been tested to hit 700MHz at 4-3-3-12 for a PC5600 rating. This should be some of the fastest ddr2 available today.

Considering how close the various TCCD contenders are in performance, it is small wonder that the Patriot's low price point and superlative performance gain it our top award, the Editor's Choice.

I would like to single out Patriot XBL memory, as this is a universal solution combining the features of both other memory types. It should be a good choice for almost any overclocker. 285MHz is a phenomenal overclocking achievement. It would correspond to DDR570 or PC4560, if it ever existed.
